President Obama has been in office two and a half years as of August 2011.   We were not happy the Republicans lost the 2008 election.  That being said, we others were looking forward to a new beginning in America.  Most of us were willing to give President Obama the benefit of the doubt.  He deserved a shot at implementing many of the things he told us he would do on the campaign trail.

On the positive side we had elected the first black President of the United States.  Most of us were sincerely proud of that.  We could look forward to less racial slurs and less time spent on the continuing accusations of racism in America.  The election of a black man to the most powerful office in the world should have quelled some of the criticism about racism aimed at America from both our friends and enemies around the world.

While we were skeptical and in disagreement about many of the social programs Obama laid out in his campaign, we know that most Americans were willing to give him a fair shake, even though he was relatively young and had proven to be the most liberal member of the Senate.

We were looking forward to that hope and change you heard at every political rally and campaign stop – YES WE CAN!  He assured us that there would be complete transparency in all of the government give and take on the issues and that he would post pending legislation on the government website so all of us could let our opinions be known before bills were scheduled for a vote .

That was then.  This is now.  Take a look.

  • The unemployment rate in the United States is 9.2% – after being told repeatedly that spending over $800 billion dollars on a stimulus plan was a must to put our folks back to work and salvage the economy.  Obama told us the employment rate would be less than 8% shortly after the stimulus took effect.  That’s a big miss!! It’s not even close enough for government work.
  • Gas prices continue to be high.
  • After spending $220 billion on programs to prop up the housing market, home prices have continued to plumet and foreclosures are still on the rise – again with no let up in sight.  The housing market has not yet hit bottom.
  • The economy is still fragile and GDP is growing under 2%.  It should be growing between 3-4 % rates if there is to be any kind of robust recovery from this long recession.  Many believe we are heading for a “double dip”.
  • Small business owners are hurting.  They are afraid to make any investment in people because of uncertainty about what the government is going to do.  Business owners won’t make decisions to grow their businesses until they know and are comfortable with the new regulations (Dodd – Frank and EPA), tax increases, the legality of Obamacare, and the government’s ability to control spending and pass legislation to controlling out-of-control spending and address the entitlement programs (Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid) that currently are in an unsustainable trajectory.
  • ObamaCare is an “Obamination”.  It was f.orced down our throats, with sleazy deals behind locked doors at a level never before seen in the House and the Senate.  Special waivers for the favored few, sweetheart financial deals to the labor unions and other far left organizations, Exceptions for Cap and Trade, etc, etc. etc.  And who can forget ACORN!  I was ashamed of our country when this was happening.
  • What we have experienced during the last two and a half years is not a new way forward with hope and change – it is simply Chicago style politics exported to the White House.
  • President Obama has been able to spend more money in his short two years in office than all of the presidents since George Washington put together.
  • The National Debt is  now over $16 trillion. Congress has just raised the limit when this post is being written.  The Obama Administration has not even produced a budget in over 800 days.  How dare they take such a cavalier attitude about their responsibilities.   President  has no plan, even though all of his cohorts insist that he does.  Truth is – he doesn’t know what to do. He has no solutions. His star is becoming dimmer each day and our current president is only worried about how to get reelected.
  • Nor have Obama and the Democrats provided a written proposal to challenge Paul Ryan’s Plan for reforming Medicare so this  program will remain solvent and be there for our Senior Citizens.  Democrats simply want to use “Mediscare” tactics on the Seniors and want to continue to “kick the can down the road.” We are very quickly running out of road.
  • Obama subscribes to a bogus economic philosophy (John Maynard Keynes) that argues government spending spurs the economy and the government can borrow as much as it wants to carry out this absurd idea.  He has borrowed and flushed trillions of dollars down the drain in the last two years and Americans have absolutely nothing to show for it.
  • Consumer confidence is at record low and Obama’s approval rating are presently at 38% – an all-time low for him.  If he is reelected in 2012 Barack Hussein Obama will move us into a non-reversable western “European style” of government by continuing his agenda of over regulation and big government spending.

The 2012 Presidential Elections are a watershed moment for our country.  We must elect a Republican President, take back the Senate and hold the House of Representatives.  Your country and your way of life depend on it, and this is not just political rhetoric.

The Hope and Change that Obama Promised didn’t happen.  He has failed on every metric.  The Democrats must be shown the door on November 6, 2012!

Get Educated on the Issues.  Get Involved.  GO VOTE in 2012!

Remember ……………..Remain Staunch, Fearless, and Resolute.
